Disappointment arose when I found out the steam room was closed during my visit, despite prior confirmation of its availability. The swimming pool experience was marred by the presence of swimming lessons, which made it crowded and less enjoyable. The cleanliness left something to be desired. spotting questionable hair in the shower was off-putting. there was a distinct and overpowering smell in the accommodation block that detracted from my overall experience.

The outdated furniture and decor really detracted from the experience!!! Maintenance requests seemed largely ignored, leaving rooms with dubious cleanliness and poor air conditioning!!! Not quite the modern hotel ambiance expected!!!

Our family enjoyed a clean, spacious room with a comfy bed. The bar staff were helpful, although some drinks were unavailable. The buffet curry night offered a tasty variety. A heads up, the pool area needs some repair. Overall, a decent stay with room for improvement.

I loved enjoying the nice food in the restaurant and relaxing in the lovely walk-in shower after a long day. The indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi were perfect spots to unwind. The only downside was the soft mattress, but it didn't stop me from having a great stay overall. 😊

the holiday inn has a fantastic location, just a short drive from colchester zoo. the rooms are recently refurbished, clean, and comfortable. i particularly loved the well-laid-out bar and the enjoyable food in the restaurant. also, the on-site health club with an indoor pool made my stay even better.

the only downside was some noise from the nearby rail line during the night.

We had a great time with friends visiting the nearby Clacton Pier and exploring a local market. The room was comfy, and we appreciated the excellent service from the staff, especially at breakfast. The fitness center was a nice perk to help us unwind after our adventures.

We stayed for 2 nights in a Standard Double Room with Sofa Bed, and the experience was very enjoyable! The spacious room was spotless, and the indoor pool was perfect for our kids. I appreciated the variety at breakfast, including fresh pastries and made-to-order eggs, which made mornings delightful. However, the only downside was the occasional noise from nearby traffic during the night.
