Arco is a charming town located in northern Italy, near the northern shore of Lake Garda. The town is situated on the banks of the River Sarca, surrounded by picturesque hills and a perfect destination for nature lovers. But Arco has not always been a peaceful paradise; historically this town was a hot spot for battles. It was strategically positioned in the past as a gateway to Lake Garda, and therefore, many armies tried to conquer it. However, the town has adapted to modern times and become a popular tourist attraction. Arco’s most notable attraction is the beautiful Arco Castle, a 12th-century fortress perched on a hill and overlooking the town and gorgeous landscapes below. The castle was constructed to guard the Brenta Valley, and it is now possible to walk there via the winding path through the olive groves. Another fascinating place to visit is Arboreto di Arco, one of the most remarkable botanical gardens in Italy, displaying different varieties of plants, trees, and exotic flowering plants. Arco is also well-known as a destination for rock climbers. The town is home to some of the best climbing walls in the world, attracting both amateurs and professionals from all over the world. The mountains surrounding the town offer several climbing opportunities, varying from the easiest to the most challenging. Another exciting option is to visit one of the many riding schools in the area to explore the beautiful surroundings on a horseback. Arco is an excellent place for a family vacation, offering an insight into the environment, animals, and local history.
