Mecca is not only a holy city for Muslims, but also a center of global attention due to its historical significance. Located in the western region of Saudi Arabia, Mecca is considered the holiest city of Islam. The city is the birthplace of Prophet Mohammed, the founder of Islam, and the site of Kaaba, which is the most revered Islamic pilgrimage site. Visitors to the city can also explore the mountains surrounding Mecca, such as Jabal al-Nour, where it is believed Prophet Muhammad used to retreat for meditation. The city of Mecca has undergone tremendous modernization in recent years. It has developed into a cosmopolitan city that embraces both the traditional and modern lifestyles. For example, the Mecca Clock Tower, which is considered the largest clock tower in the world, dominates the city skyline with its height of 601 meters. The structure houses a hotel, shopping mall, and numerous restaurants. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views of the city from the observation deck located at the top of the tower.
